      Silicon steel sheet, called siliconlamination in English, is a soft magnetic alloy of silicon and iron with very low carbon content. The typical silicon content is 0.5 to 4.5%. The addition of silicon increases the resistivity and maximum permeability of iron and reduces coercivity, iron loss and magnetic aging.
