Introducing the common materials used in stamping moulds

  Commonly used materials for stamping moulds (also known as hardware moulds) mainly include the following categories:


       Metal materials: such as aluminium, galvanised sheet, and so on. Aluminium is commonly used for appearance parts, such as laptop keyboards, etc.; galvanised sheet is coated with zinc on the surface of cold rolled sheet, which has the characteristics of rust and corrosion resistance.

  Stamping moulds

    Alloy tool steel: with high hardness, high strength and better wear resistance, thermal stability and other characteristics, is the ideal material for the manufacture of stamping moulds. Commonly used alloy tool steel are Cr12MoV, Cr12Mo1V1 and so on.
    Other special materials: such as tungsten steel, extremely high hardness, but poor toughness, processing difficulty, usually applied to the product precision and quality requirements of very high occasions.

     In addition, the manufacturing materials of stamping dies also contain steel, steel junction carbide, cemented carbide, zinc-based alloys, polymer materials, aluminium bronze, high and low melting point alloys, etc.12 The choice of materials for dies has an important impact on the service life, performance and manufacturing difficulty of the dies. Therefore, when selecting stamping die materials, comprehensive consideration needs to be made according to specific product requirements, production conditions and economic benefits.


  Stamping moulds

High-speed punching machine rotates the flywheel driven by the electric motor to store energy, and then releases the energy of the flywheel instantly through the control of the clutch and brake to drive the slider to carry out high-speed reciprocating motion to realize the punching action.
