     Punch presses are a very common processing tool in a wide range of machinery and equipment, and the sound they make is very conspicuous. The noise in a punch press workshop can usually be as high as 90-110dB(A), which poses a huge threat to the health of the staff and also negatively affects the surrounding acoustic environment.
Noise control methods caused by punching machines
First, in order to reduce the noise of the sound source, the key reduction method lies in the precise control of the sound source.
     1, for the noise reduction characteristics of the punch press: in the selection of relevant equipment, we should try to choose the punch press device with more slight noise under the cost permit.
     2, mitigate the noise generated by the mold: the designers of the die often do not take the noise into account. By properly selecting the fit distance of the concave and convex molds, noise reduction of up to 5dBA can be achieved, and change the geometry of the bump. Noise reduction of 5-10 dBA can also be achieved by using stepped dies and beveled edge dies instead of flat dies. However, because the geometry of the part often appears complex to begin with, this adds to the challenges of machining the mold.      3. Elimination of noise in the office environment
In the design of mechanical presses, commonly used crank slider type transmission device, in order to reduce the working clearance, bearings need to be installed in strict accordance with the established installation specifications, at the same time, the fit clearance during assembly needs to be properly optimized and adjusted.      4、Improve the structure of punching machine

     6、Set up sound absorption and vibration damping device
The flywheel of the punch press and its transmission system plus cover closed up, can significantly reduce the noise of the transmission part. For high power, high noise motor should also be configured with local sound insulation cover or closed sound insulation cover. In the lower part of the press slider or mold outside the work area, the installation of movable protective fence or soundproof cover. If the mold is installed on the outside of the soundproof cover, cover the inner wall and then affixed with sound-absorbing materials, noise abatement effect is more obvious.
