High-precision stamping has strict specific requirements for the speed and acceleration of the motor:
I. Rotation speed requirements
Stability
During high-precision stamping, the motor speed needs to be highly stable. The fluctuation range should be as small as possible, usually requiring speed fluctuations within ±1% or even less. This is because an unstable rotational speed will lead to uneven stamping strokes, affecting the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the stamped parts.
Adjustability
High-precision stamping often requires the motor speed to be adjusted according to different stamping materials, molds and process requirements. The motor should be able to be precisely adjusted over a wide range of speeds, generally requiring a single-digit or even higher speed adjustment accuracy. For example, for thinner materials, a lower speed may be required to avoid excessive deformation of the material, while for thicker materials, a higher speed is needed to ensure adequate press force.
Modern servo motors are usually equipped with high-performance drives that can be programmed or HMI'd to precisely adjust the speed to meet the needs of different stamping conditions.
Compatibility with the stamping process
The motor speed should be matched to the whole process of high precision stamping. Different rotational speeds may be required at different stages of stamping, such as feeding, punching and demolding.
II. Acceleration Requirements
Fast Response
In high precision stamping process, the motor needs to be able to respond quickly to start, stop and speed change commands. This requires the motor to have high acceleration in order to reach the set speed in the shortest possible time. Typically, the acceleration should be in the range of several hundred to several thousand rpm ² or even higher.
High-speed punching machine rotates the flywheel driven by the electric motor to store energy, and then releases the energy of the flywheel instantly through the control of the clutch and brake to drive the slider to carry out high-speed reciprocating motion to realize the punching action.
